More than six months after the Mackay Regional Council signed off on the deal, the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning has approved a plan to convert 25sq m of the Seaforth Community Hall into a pharmacy. Calen-based Vivid Horizons, which also owns Calen District Pharmacy, secured the tender for the operation that will pay about $7000 annually to Mackay Regional Council. Seaforth hall hire bookings have declined in recent years with the annual income being approximately $1700 and the annual maintenance costs being approximately $30,000, the MRC s September 2020 ordinary meeting agenda stated.
