MALASIQUI, Pangasinan - Vaccination is not a requirement to attend the face-to-face (F2F) classes but the health and education departments in Ilocos Region will still push to boost the administration of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) jab. In a virtual forum on Tuesday, Editha Giron, the Department of Education (DepEd) Ilocos program supervisor for the curriculum and management division, said the department advocates immunization for the protection of learners. "Aside from the school (facilities), we are also preparing the school as a whole with its learners and teachers come the F2F classes for the next school year," she said. Giron added that a joint memorandum was issued last year by DOH and DepEd and was reiterated to strengthen the call for vaccination among learners and teachers in the region targeting areas with low immunization rates.
