Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Brent France and CSO Brian France were dispatched to a disturbance complaint at apartments off Greeting Card Road. Deputies arrived to find 29-year Jonathon R. Vaughn of London arguing and cursing at a woman outside the apartments. During the investigation Vaughn was determined to be under the influence. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and disorderly conduct. Vaughn was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is facing charges, accused of leaving a child alone in a home while she was intoxicated. Deputy Greg Poynter, along with Deputy Brent France, Deputy Marcus Stigall and CSO Brian France responded to a disturbance complaint at a home on Keavy Road. When they arrived at the scene, they found 28-year-old Kayla Slusher was apparently locked out of the house. When they investigated further, they found out she was under the influence and caring for a child who was inside the home. Slusher is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication. She was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and later released.

LAUREL COUNTY â A Corbin man repeatedly attempted to escape law enforcement on Saturday evening when Laurel County Sheriff s Office was investigating a possible overdose.
Laurel County Sheriff s Deputy Brent France along with CSO Brian France arrested Charles J. Gray, Jr., age 39, of Highway 1232 at 6:11 p.m. The arrest occurred off US 25, approximately 8 miles south of London, after deputies were dispatched to a possible overdose at a business there. Upon pulling into the business parking lot, deputies observed a man flee on foot when he saw the patrol car pulled into the parking lot, according to a press release from the Sheriff s Office.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Brent France and CSO Brian France were called out to a possible overdose at a business off US 25 about 8 miles south of London. As they pulled into the parking lot deputies saw a man running from the scene. Officers chased him down and during questioning he gave them false identifying information. Police found he was actually 39-year-old Charles J. Gray, JR of Highway 1232. During his arrest deputies found him in possession of suspected methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, and a flask. After Gray was placed in the backseat of the patrol car he attempt to crawl between the separator window to drive off in it. In addition to possession, fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest, Gray also had four Whitley County warrants. Later, while being processed at the Sheriff’s office Gray tried again to escape.
