The repositioning of demonstrators from the Carlson Center back parking lot on Saturday by Fairbanks police officers prompted some rebuke by two residents at Monday’s Fairbanks City Council meeting.
A 44-year-old West Jordan man is in police custody after allegedly shooting his son after a Christmas Eve argument fueled by alcohol, police said. Shortly before 10 p. m. Friday, West Jordan Police were called out to reports of a shooting at a home near 8900 S. and 6400 W. When police arrived at the home, they found that the father had shot his 24-year-old son after a "verbal altercation that involved alcohol," according to Deputy Chief Richard Bell.
