Upcoming Brooklyn exhibition Radiator will showcase furniture and functional art by New York-based designers, including neon light sculptures and a pink squiggly chair.
The exhibition will be held at The Gowanus Studio Space as part of the annual festival NYCxDesign s Design Days programme. The venue is a cooperative workspace for artists and designers.

Radiator will showcase the work of 12 up-and-coming artists and designers whose work spans furniture, lighting and home objects.
The exhibition, which is named for the concept of something emanating from a core, seeks to propel emerging creative talent into the spotlight.

.- In 2019, Joseph Vidich and Kira de Paola, who are metalworkers, first cousins and co-founders of the New York design studio Kin & Co., organized a show on a Brooklyn promenade of creative outdoor furniture, called Inside-Out. They didnt expect to see so many visitors testing the displays and gabbing with strangers, so they planned a sequel for 2020 that paid attention to social interaction but had to rethink the event when the pandemic hit.

Since NYCxDESIGN reconceived of itself as an independent non-profit organization last Fall, the organization has drastically expanded its range of offerings. Now, in addition to their annual design festival (“NYCxDESIGN: The Festival”), they’ve launched programs including a magazine, a podcast series, design competitions, a network of designers offering pro-bono services, as well as a poster campaign that raised spirits, and money, for local causes during the darkest days of the pandemic.
