Nothing screams "Arkansas" louder than a drake mallards plumage aloft in the soft morning sunlight.

Raven Leigh-Anna Walton and Patrick Thomas Tarmey exchanged marriage vows Friday, July 21, in the Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs. Trevor OConner of Denver officiated.

After Maj. Gen. Frederick Steele and his troops captured Little Rock in September 1863, DeValls Bluff served as a vital link in supplying the capital city with troops and materiel.

History proper, or academic history, means archival (primary source) research served with context drawn from existing historiography (historical writing) and new interpretations offered by the researcher/writer.

Kimberly Green, a graduate student in history at Arkansas Tech University, will give a talk on Contraband Camps at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, in Mullins Library Room 452 and on Zoom.

On Jan. 26 at The Breakers, a posh Palm Beach hotel, Arkansas Jane Lyon was in the spotlight. The occasion was the annual Eclipse Awards ceremony for thoroughbred racing.

Its a warm January morning as I step out of the main house at Wingmead. Its 5:30 a.m., and Tim Doepel, who has managed wildlife on this 15,000-acre tract for the past 44 years, has the coffee hot. Im here at the invitation of Wil and Ashley Jackson.
