A man drowned at Palisade State Park on Saturday, a park official confirmed.

The Transportation Security Administration says more travelers will be heading through Salt Lake City International Airport this year than they have in the last four years.

Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion national parks had record visitation in 2021. But the latest data shows visitation is down for spring 2022. Inflation, gas prices and the COVID-19 pandemic factor into travel and vacation plans.

After a year of shattered records, it appears the crowds are thinning out across Utahs public lands.
