Precision Acoustics Limited, market-leading manufacturer of ultrasound measurement products for the medical and non-destructive testing (NDT) industries and supplier of MHz ultrasound equipment, has been shortlisted for two major industry awards in three separate categories.
They recently completed a project, the Development of Radiation Resilient Ultrasonic Sensors project (ReDRESS project), with a consortium of industry and academic partners to develop a suite of ultrasonic measuring devices for high radiation environments. Working in close collaboration with Ionix Advanced Technologies, TWI Ltd and the University of Sheffield, the project spanned 21 months.
Each partner brought their own areas of expertise, and Precision Acoustics’ focus was on the design and manufacture of piezopolymer transducers which needed to be easy to assemble, have a long useful life, be robust enough to withstand harsh radiation environments and be sufficiently flexible
