Mr. Chairman, board members, supervisors, thank you for the opportunity to present and thank you for your support of this. In 19309, 80 years ago, a Charter Amendment came in which was 16. 85 creating something for Police Officers. In that same year, the legislator in the state of california created a heart presumption that applies throughout the state. Over the years, these last 80 years, the presumption containing in the labor code has changed numerous times. The presumption contained in our own administrative code has changed not once. We are asking simply that the administrative code parallel the code that applies for all Public Police officers and firefighters in the state of california so they are similar. Here is an example as to what the change would amount to. Supposing a San Francisco firefighter or Police Officer with 25 years of service was out on the job and in pursue of their own employment, they suffered a heart attack. This firefighter or Police Officer, because of the

We are delighted to be able to honor individuals who have served this particular commission and agency and the first person we are honoring today is the former chair of the commission, a very good friend, a Wonderful Community leader, with that, i will read part of the resolution. On october 4th, 2012, San Francisco mayor, edwin lee appointed her as one of the founding members of the commission on Community Investment and infrastructure. Remember the fire. I was i across the street watching the fire go up. It was a pretty good fire. He was going up the fire escape, the ladder and im watching him. I could literally see it going six inches back and forth, hes got 70 pounds, with tank and everything, loaded down. So i happened to see him later. I asked him, [laughter], i said, did you i said you must have felt he said, yeah, it was just rotten. Being the firefighter, he kept going. He didnt say i cant go up there, its rotten. And he was breaking a hole in the roof and was very important to get that fire out. But i thought thats why were putting it into the code. Commissioner hardeman right. Their staff is executive director daniel weaver, the Service Areas are safety and community ambassadors, cleaning program, administration and corporate operations.
