<p>Child marriage has declined in India—but across the country, one in five girls and nearly one in six boys are still married as children, and in recent years the practice has become more prevalent in some states/union territories, according to a new study led by researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.</p>

There remains an urgent need for strengthened national and state-level policy to eliminate child marriage by 2030, say the researchers.
