Eleven public school teachers in northeast North Dakota have been selected as County Teachers of the Year from among 110 educators who were nominated for the honor, according to Kirsten Baesler, state school superintendent.
Of the 110 nominees, 81 teachers completed applications to be considered. The applications were screened by an eight-member committee that included education group representatives and a former Teacher of the Year.
Community Shout Out: Wrapping up February with Central Middle School s Characters
Devils Lake Journal
DEVILS LAKE – As we close out the month of February, we take a look again at Devils Lake’s Central Middle School at the students who stood out among the crowd each week to be chosen as the “Characters of the week.”
On February 16, Graby Blegen got a very special treat by being chosen as the character that week, which coincided with his birthday! The school said Blegen was a kind, caring student, and you will often find him following the Firebird Way.
“He is a fun person to be around with a great sense of humor, the school said on their Facebook page. “Grady is very committed to his schoolwork, giving his best effort at all times. There is no doubt that Grady will continue to be a successful Firebird student!”
