The Alberta Fire Chiefs Association (AFCA) is not happy with the provinces new "move over" safety rules that kick in Sept. 1.

The Alberta government is making changes to new rules about passing roadside workers before they take effect next month.

The Alberta Motor Association says its roadside operators are disappointed with the province’s walk back of some of the safety provisions passed last year in Bill 5. 

Drivers will have to slow down when passing all roadside workers, but only if they’re in the closest lane of traffic, not all lanes of traffic, which was the original plan.

A new coalition of First Nations is coming together with the goal of building a pipeline to move Alberta hydrogen to tidewater in Manitoba.
