Rev. Salyer Banks, 87, of McDonald, passed into the presence of His Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the home of his daughter.
He was born to Grant and Rausey Stallard Banks on April 29, 1933, in Perry County, Ky. He married his high school sweetheart, Diana Lee Frederick, on August 27, 1951. Together they raised two children: Lucretia Banks Haney and Byron Salyer Banks.
Salyer spent the majority of his work life with AT&T in various positions, prior to retiring with over 30 years of service.
Salyer was ordained into the ministry at White Oak Baptist Church on October 13, 1985, and pastored Burlington Heights Baptist Church.
