All 12 COVID-19 cases linked to the outbreak at Cenovus Christina Lake site have recovered, said Alberta Health spokesperson Tom McMillan Sunday.
On Saturday, the site was added to the Government of Alberta’s online data list of current outbreaks.

“The outbreak list was not updated between Dec. 23 and Jan. 5, so some of those recently listed may not currently have active cases,” said McMillan.
Cenovus spokesperson Sonja Franklin said they haven’t had any new cases recently. She said they have been working closely with Alberta Health services and have strong protocols in place. These include daily health screenings, physical distancing, wearing masks, enhanced cleaning and hand washing.

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Cenovus Christina Lake site according to the Government of Alberta’s online data.
However, in a Saturday evening email, Cenovus spokesperson Sonja Franklin said they haven’t had any new cases recently.

“The cases we’ve had at site happened some time ago,” said Franklin.
She said they have been working closely with Alberta Health services and have strong protocols in place. These include daily health screenings, physical distancing, wearing masks, enhanced cleaning and hand washing.
