Gopal Rai: Starting from November 1, only electric, CNG, and BS VI-compliant diesel buses will be allowed to operate between Delhi and the cities and towns in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan that come within the National Capital Region, or NCR, according to directions issued by the Centre s Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Sunday demanded the Centre impose a strict ban on buses operating with poor-quality diesel in the NCR areas of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
OSRTC Buses: Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has adopted cleaner fuel technologies by shifting from conventional fossil fuels to cleaner alternatives, such as increasing the use of AdBlue. Around 38% of its ongoing fleet is being upgraded with technology to reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, OSRTC plans to incorporate further 1745 Conventional Diesel Buses complying with BS-VI Emission norms, which could result in an annual carbon reduction of approximately 11 million tons, the corporation said
