Due to the predicted weather forecast and dangerous wind chills, the following Hutch Rec facilities and programs will be canceled or closed on Monday, Feb. 15:
Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1st, will be closed. Staff will be working from home and available between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. taking phone calls and answering emails. For more information, call 620-663-6179.
Dillon Nature Center, 3002 E. 30th Ave, will be closed. This includes trails, grounds, and the Visitor’s Center. Staff will be available between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. taking phone calls and answering emails. For more information, call 620-663-7411.
Training offered locally to be part of FrogWatch USA, which helps monitor frog and toad populations around the U.S. as a part of a conservation project.
Beginning Jan. 25, Hutchinson High School will begin classes via the modified hybrid system. Under the modified hybrid system, students with last names starting with the letters A through L will attend in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students whose last names start with M through Z will attend in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All students will attend remotely on Fridays.
Hutchinson elementary schools and middle schools will continue on the modified hybrid system.
Virtual Field Trips
On Kansas Day, Jan. 29, Hutchinson Public Schools in conjunction with Wichita Unified School District 259 and other districts in the state will be hosting virtual field trips from around Kansas.
