LAS VEGAS - The United States Bowling Congress announced Thursday that a new squad schedule will be put into place for the next three editions of the USBC Open Championships, beginning in 2022.
The change was a result of tracking start and finish times during the 2021 USBC Open Championships, along with bowler feedback during a variety of daily schedules in recent years. The adjustments are being made with on-time squads and bowler experience as the top areas of focus.
The new schedule will eliminate the late-night doubles and singles squad and end each day with a combination squad that will use half the facility for team competition and half for doubles and singles.

LAS VEGAS - Jamie Brooks of McKinney, Texas, waited long enough for his chance to become a member of the 100,000-Pin Club at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships.
When the May 1 start date for the 2021 event was finalized, he was among the first in line to lock in his dates and times, which he hoped would be close to the beginning of the event, so he could complete a journey that was six decades in the making.
Brooks was able to register for the second day of the tournament, and he etched his name in the tournament record book again Sunday when he toppled his 100,000th pin during the final game of his team event at the South Point Bowling Plaza.

ARLINGTON, Texas - The United States Bowling Congress has compiled its collection of oil patterns used at short- and long-duration events and on the Professional Women s Bowling Association Tour and created a location for them all to be accessed and downloaded.
The USBC Oil Pattern Bank will give bowlers, proprietors and tournament operators the ability to browse and select oil patterns from nearly every USBC and PWBA Tour national event since 2015. This is going to be a great resource for the bowling community, USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. If you re preparing for upcoming events or looking to provide a new challenge for your tournament competitors, you can download these patterns and ask your local center to run them for you.
