ASUCR discusses proposed tuition increases by the UC Regents and changes to in-person commencement Post Views: 570 On Wednesday, May 5, ASUCR held their sixth meeting of the quarter as well as their monthly State of the Association. Vice President of External Affairs Vincent Rasso reflected on the events his office held and participated in during the month of April. Some of those events had a focus on civic engagement, such as their Ward 2 Candidate Forum hosted by Clarissa Cervantes and Aram Ayra, both candidates who are running on a platform that includes representing UCR students in the Riverside City Council, according to Rasso.

ASUCR 2021 candidates announced

Highlander Lloyd Kao / The Highlander On Wednesday, March 31, ASUCR held their first meeting of spring quarter where they discussed updates to the upcoming ASUCR Elections and passed a resolution advocating for a safe, in-person graduation ceremony. Elections Director Lama Yassine updated the senate on the timeline for the upcoming ASUCR elections. Next week, the elections committee will begin hosting Candidates Conventions for both senators and those running for the executive branch, giving each candidate the opportunity to discuss their platforms. Voting Week is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 19.  Yassine also announced the candidates who will be running in the 2021 ASUCR Elections. They are:
