According to media reports, BMW's first all-electric M model is likely to go on sale globally sometime in 2027. Without revealing the date, BMW M's head of development, Dirk Hacker, mentioned that the first all-electric M model was "far away", though its development is already underway.

In the future, expect to find automatic transmissions with torque converters in the high-performance offerings from BMW M.
