Okay. I am nicole, the director of the Mayors Office on disability. Thank you for inviting me here today. What i want to do is talk for a minute what our charge is and how we Work Together with s. F. M. T. A. There is a lot that we are focused on that is very positive and i dont want to move those thoughts but i want to take time to make you aware of some of the things we are also hearing and you will hear duplication from dianes comments. I think it is important that we are hearing from the same communities. I wanted to highlight some of those things. First of all, the charge of the Mayors Office on disability specifically is as the citys overall americans with disability act coordinator on behalf of the city. We work closely with our ada coordinators in the various city departments and s. F. M. T. A. Has a fairly robust team in s. F. M. T. A. Accessible services. We work closely with them on a number of initiatives. Many of the complaints and concerns that we hear from individuals wi
Somebody into the archives to find out actually who designed these buildings because dear old mr. Thorpe passed away before they were ever finished. Thank you. Anyone else like to make a Public Comment at this time . Closing Public Comment and bringing it back to the commission, anybody . Commissioner perlman . I would first like to ask, how do we follow up on mr. Hasses comments . Is that something the staff should do . We can certainly look into it. Theres obviously a number of projects that have occurred on the campus, so maybe as we explore future review, we can flush it out as a question. It would be good to get the record straight, because i know from the next project of the civic center, mr. Hasse has taken us to task about that. I wanted to comment about this project. I think we had looked at this at the arc quite awhile ago, and this has come quite a long, long way from the kind of massing studmassingstudy we were presend i think this is a nice building. The whole thing was od

Elevators with Senior Services on site. This is something that were doing with prop a. But also we have to look at transportation, because a lot of seniors give up cars or, you know, or they actually start using transportation a lot more. We have to make it safe. Unless we have safe transportation and its reliable, muni is reliable, seniors, most of us wont use this, especially seniors. So theres a lot of things that we need to do. And thats what were pushing for. Moderator thank you very much. Mr. Lam. Yes. One of my priorities is safety, as i mentioned. And with my intensive Infrastructure Improvement plan, i want to make sure that streets, lights and timers are provided near Senior Centers. I live near two Senior Centers with no timers. You just sort of just talk across the street. And something bad can happen there, because a senior on their wheelchair could take more time than the average pedestrian. I want to continue the pensions and benefits that seniors receive, given by calif
Her to continue her medical treatment. And she passed away because of that denial of treatment. And im here to raise your attention to how discrimination can impact the disabled community when theyre dealing with an organ transplant. And i dont know if your office has ever had to deal with a situation like this. I only recently learned of your council over the summer. And i spoke with heather in your office. And, heather, you were wonderful and provided a lot of information. I, unfortunately, didnt know about your office over the past four years. When i was faced with having to deal with a decision that my sister was being removed from a transplant wait list because she could not speak and could not move half her body, i felt trapped and there was nobody i could talk to. The hospital made the decision. It was only one hospital in this city that performs lung transplants. And we had no choice to take her to another hospital. And i just dont want what happened to my sister to happen to a
