NBA approves $5 7M exception for Nets

23 Jan 2021 - 20:14 Reuters The Brooklyn Nets have been granted a $5.7 million Disabled Player Exception due to the loss of guard Spencer Dinwiddie to a partial ACL tear, The Athletic reported. Dinwiddie, 27, played in just three games and is not expected to return this season. The Nets can use the exception in a trade or signing to add depth to complement their big three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the recently acquired James Harden. Dinwiddie has averaged 14.3 points and 5.3 assists in five seasons with the Nets. He spent his first two seasons in Detroit after the Pistons took him in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft.

NBA: Why should the Wizards sign Edy Tavares from the EuroLeague?

Back in October 2018, when Bryant would dress for games in plain clothes I asked some of the Wizards beat writers in Capital One Arena why isn’t TB getting any playing time from coach Brooks. The most common answer I got was: “Thomas who?” I remember one evening after a game, I spotted TB with his mom. I came up to them to chat. I told her I couldn’t understand how come her son isn’t getting any minutes. She told me “go tell that to the coach!”

Haynes: Nets still talking with Jamal Crawford about return

Haynes: Nets still talking with Jamal Crawford about return Share this story Photo by Jim Poorten/NBAE via Getty Images Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Nets and Jamal Crawford are talking to each other about a reunion this season. Haynes speculates that Spencer Dinwiddie’s knee injury and upcoming surgery might accelerate those talks. Talking with fellow NBA writer Seerat Sohi on his Posted Up with Chris Haynes podcast Tuesday, Haynes said Crawford might still wind up with Brooklyn. Admitting that “I don’t know if the Nets feel like they have to do anything, as far as roster shakeups or roster moves,” Haynes suggested that the Nets and the 20-year veteran have had “conversations.”
