TSMC, the leading producer of advanced chips for Apple and Nvidia, has restarted operations, less than 24 hours after evacuating staff and halting work.

TSMC told Fortune it detected damage to a “small number” of tools and was 70% recovered within 10 hours of a 7.4 magnitude earthquake.

The technological expertise that turned Taiwan into a semiconductor powerhouse appears to have kept damage and casualties relatively low from its worst quake in a quarter of a century, according to an academic who worked on the island’s disaster response.

TSMC and Nvidia are resuming production less than 24 hours after evacuating staff and halting operations.

The quake measured 7.4 in magnitude and struck the east coast of Taiwan early Wednesday, killing at least seven people and injuring more than 800.
