MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ to power 5G smartphones in India from early 2021
MediaTek already announced its Dimensity 800U mid-range 5G SoC in India earlier this month and said that the first phone powered by the mid-range 5G processor will be launched in the country in January 2021. Today it has announced the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip for the Indian market and said that it expects smartphones powered by the flagship chip to launch in early in 2021. This will likely be the realme X7 5G 5G that is expected to be launched next month.
The 7nm Dimensity 1000+ chip offers dual 5G SIM, carrier aggregation (2CC 5G-CA), integrates the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1+ standards, comes with MediaTek AI Processing Unit APU 3.0 with more than double the performance of the previous generation APU, supports highest 144Hz refresh rate display. It has MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave power-saving technology which improves battery life.
