A popular restaurant chain has been ordered to pay Rs 25,852 in compensation to a customer who found a live worm in her dish at their Chandigarh outlet.
The commission ordered the Chili’s restaurant to refund the amount of Rs 852.75 (food bill) to the complainant and to pay an amount of Rs 10,000 to the complainant as compensation, besides paying Rs 5,000 as the cost of litigation. The commission also directed the restaurant to pay another cost of Rs 10,000 to be deposited with the Consumer Legal Aid account.
On December 11, 2018, fire broke out in the furniture market due to which the complainant suffered loss of furniture and other articles lying in the shop.
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Chandigarh said that Bank of Baroda failed to remove the objection or query raised by the HUDCO in respect of application of complainants, and also failed to upload the revised claim form.
