There were 707 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Saturday, including 622 on Oʻahu. Statewide, there were 41 people hospitalized with COVID-19 on Friday, including one on Maui.
Of today’s 282 cases, there were 223 cases identified as confirmed, and +59 probable cases were added to the count. The confirmed cases included: 188 on O‘ahu (+42 probable); two on Hawai‘i Island (+3 probable); 14 on Maui (+14 probable); 13 on Kaua‘i; two on Moloka‘i; and four Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.
Today’s COVID-19 case count includes about 130 cases not previously reported because a testing provider experienced an interruption with the electronic laboratory reporting system. The backlogged cases are from specimens analyzed between Nov. 28 and Dec. 13, 2021.
Of today’s 214 cases, there were 212 cases identified as confirmed, and +2 probable cases were added to the count. The confirmed cases included: 170 on O‘ahu (-1 probable); 25 on Hawai‘i Island (-2 probable); four on Maui (+5 probable); six on Kaua‘i; and seven Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.
