Youve worked under and with these men and women for some time. is that an accurate appraisal? >> not at all. when i worked at the cia for seven years, i couldnt have told you what any of the people there, what their personal politics was all about. this is not about a person. this is about policy. you can disagree with what john brennan has to say, or you can disagree with the way he says it, but he has a right to say what he wants to say now that hes not in government. the u.s. government has a...

Tried to cleanse themselves of the rohinja people. these and other countries journalists are jailed and executed for printing things that the leader doesnt like. that is why america is different. that is a tradition worth the fight. that is why we will continue to do our jobs at journalists. and that is your reality check. >> yes we will. john avlon, i appreciate that, thank you for that reality check this morning. >> so well said. just ahead the music world and beyond saying a little prayer thi...

They resign in protest. in this case, she appears to say, you know, thank you, sir, may i have another? and on the mueller side of it, i cannot believe this interview with "the wall street journal," because the president is essentially dangling out there more and more evidence of, if not obstruction of justice, in this case, abuse of power, which was another impeachment article against someone like richard nixon. the president has the ability to control security clearances. that is almost univer...

The "times" for $1, and now the globe is in collusion with other papers on free press. prove it. i dont understand the tweet. i think the point is hes trying to say collusion. >> prove it is an interesting point. fake news -- what donald trump means by that is news that is unfavorable to him. >> we all know that. >> but we dont say it enough. and i think if each editorial would have taken a story that they wrote, and donald trump at one point called some aspect of it fake news and said this is n...

Welcome back. so, if my 12-year-old, mario, called someone a dog, he would not say it again in my presence. i guarantee you he would apologize. in fact, if he said most of the things that the president says about people hes threatened by or doesnt like, his cheeks would be glowing. thats because we teach our kids, we make our kids do right because it shows respect for people and respect matters. so dont defend president trump calling omarosa a dog. dont defend him calling anyone a dog, period. s...

Global thinking. it was reported that tech giant, google is working with the chinese government to develop a search engine that implements the regimes censorship of information it doesnt like. this is part of googles plan to get back into china after pulled out in 2010 in protest of the government hacking of gmail. this stories very personal for me. the china part is personal because my parents are hungarian. i know about oppressive communist regimes. that is what todays train is. the google par...

To speed. if you lose, that wheres it leave the nation? >> it is unprecedented, isnt it? >> absolutely. the explanation that sarah sanders gave is a little bit odd which is, well, theyre profiting off of it. i mean, lots of people who are former national security intelligence officials go into consulting. many of them get television contracts. this is not -- jim clapper is not the first or michael hayden and anyone else they named so it is odd and i do think it has that enemys list feel to it ev...

Or suggest he does, he does the opposite. somewhat contrarian, a lot of beliefs he has in nato not a good organization or eu doesnt like, multilateral trade deals and feelings about theresa may. hes not going to change them. so theres all of these briefings and efforts to get him to be somewhat in a boxg, when he goes on the world stage, he doesnt really follow what hes told to do at all. >> a lot of aides telling the other allies, dont worry, well take -- pay no attention, well take care of it....

Hes going after a league that he really doesnt like. and so this is low-hanging fruit for him. but the nfl needs to make a decision. theyre not going to satisfy everybody, and theyre certainly not going to satisfy him. but now that they brought it back and put it on pause, they can come up with a sensible anthem policy that involves the players and owners. >> steve tisch, the owner of the new york giants, was talking to a reporter from the hollywood reporter out before premier and he said hopefu...
