Premium Content  THE architect of the merger between the Liberal and National parties in Queensland has urged warring factions to look at the bigger picture otherwise the conservatives face more years in the political wilderness. Former Opposition leader and Newman Government Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said the Labor Party had learned from its mistakes of the past, having been largely in Opposition in Queensland from 1957-1989. They (Labor) learned about division and the benefit of unity, Mr Springborg said. As is almost always the case, the party is not the problem. It s personalities and I urge individuals to look beyond themselves and to the bigger picture.
