The Nats fell short in their pursuit to win three games in a row as well as secure a winning road trip as they dropped the second game to the Giants by a score of 4 to 1. The Nats managed to collect 10 hits, but frequently struggled with RISP, going 1-12.

The Nats relied on their traditional strength on Monday: Starting Pitching. Jake Irvin was nothing short of dominant against the Giants, throwing 6.1 innings of shutout baseball with only 4 hits and 3 walks allowed to 5 strikeouts in a 5 to 1 victory.

The Nationals had arguably their most odd game of the season on Thursday. A prime Patrick Corbin performance capped off by an Alex Call walk-off homerun gave the Nationals their third win a row as they took the 4 game set from the Cubs.
