The Boothbay Region Seahawks played better in their second game of the season after losing to Winthrop but fell to the St. Dominic Academy Saints, 38-30, at Porter Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday, Dec. 12. Bella Orr was Boothbay’s top scorer with 12.
It wasn’t what Seahawk coach Dan Hallinan wanted to see in the first home game of the season. The fast-breaking, swarming defenders and swooping rebounders St. Dominic Academy Saints dominated the Boothbay Region Seahawks, 72-28, in varsity boys.
With Edward Little and Thornton Academy both having veteran senior goalies on the roster, coaches Norm Gagne and Jamie Gagnon gave their younger goalies the nod in Wednesday's matchup. Also, St. Dom's boys finding the back of the net early, Eliza Beaudin leads the way in local ties on Team USA, while Thunder veteran forward chooses to play college hockey at Bowdoin.
