Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 13) - The Department of Labor and Employment is already running out of funds to support workers affected by the pandemic, Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay said.
She added that the department is now using its regular budget as the allocated funds for displaced informal workers under Bayanihan 2 have already been used.
"Para sa mga workers in the informal sector, meron po tayong tinatawag na TUPAD [Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers]. Ito po ay ongoing pa rin po ngayon, pero ang ginagamit po natin ay regular budget na po under 2021. Naubos na rin po yung sa ating Bayanihan 2," Tutay told CNN Philippines'

Published April 29, 2021 9:10pm Over 44,000 jobs are available in the Philippines and overseas as more displaced workers were reported during the pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Thursday. According to JP Soriano's "24 Oras" report, 36,951 job vacancies are available locally while 7,174 jobs are being offered abroad. Among the top local vacant jobs are production operator, factory worker, customer service representative, police officer, contact tracers, sewer, mason, carpenter, and rebarman. Top vacant jobs overseas include nurse, factory worker, mechanic, nursing aid, healthcare assistant, and cleaners. Interested applicants must go to DOLE's online job fairs per region.
