There’s plenty to look forward to in spring 2021 and not just warmer weather.
Several restaurants are preparing to open in the Harrisburg area, giving pent-up diners an opportunity to grab a seat or takeout from a new spot.
While some of the restaurants’ plans were delayed by COVID-19, others have sprung up during the pandemic hiatus. After months of adhering to pandemic protocols, Don Carter, Jr., wants some relief.
Like many in the industry, Carter, owner of more than a half dozen central Pennsylvania restaurants, including Dukes Bar & Grill and Dockside Willies Bar & Grill in Wormleysburg, has had to lay off employees, shave back hours and watch sales and profits plummet.
He has also delayed opening a new restaurant in Wormleysburg, Tequila Willies, to focus on preparing his other establishments’ decks and patios for spring. As he sees it, there’s more money to be made from outdoor dining.
