SALT LAKE CITY – Utah swimming continued its season against another top-ranked team, this time welcoming No. 2 California to the Don Reddish Pool on Friday afternoon. The Utah men fell to the Golden Bears 166-95 in Salt Lake City in the squad's second dual meet of the season.
"We swam really hard today," head coach Joe Dykstra said. "They are the No. 2 team in the country for a reason, but I'm really proud of some of our scores today. We didn't back down against a really talented team and will look to build on the performance against UNLV next."
Against Colorado Mesa, Woznick broke the 50 free pool record set by Olympian Simone Manuel, while Cooper DeRyk broke the 100 fly and Broome broke the 50 back record in the first leg of the 200 medley relay. DeRyk then turned around to break his mark in the 100 fly once again, this time against BYU the following week.
The same 200 medley relay team that broke WSU s pool record didn t stop there and broke the Don Reddish Pool record against BYU (1:41.09). Reimer also broke the 100 back and 200 back in Salt Lake City, while Woznick tied the pool record in the 100 free against BYU.
