Magnitude-5.1 quake rattles North Sulawesi s Bitung port city 11th December 2020
Illustration Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA) - A 5.1-magnitude earthquake rocked northeast of Bitung port city in North Sulawesi Province on Thursday evening, though it did not trigger a tsunami.
Epicenter of the quake that struck at 10:04 p.m. local time was located some 131 kilometers (km) away from Bitung at a depth of 10 km, according to the Jakarta-based Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). We have not yet received reports of casualties or damages, Adelia, an operational staff of the Winangun Geophysics Station in Manado City, was quoted by ANTARA as saying on Friday.
