One year later, the entire bridge was shutdown over labor day so caltrans could move a 200 foot section of roadway into place just east of yerba buena island. In 2009, there was another full closure over labor day as caltrans finished work on the scurve detour along the eastern span. Then in 2011, the eastbound lanes were closed over memorial day weekend so those lanes could be re aligned near the toll plaza.
