If you plan on renting a car anytime soon, the Better Business Bureau warns you to be prepared for sticker shock. In many cases the prices have gone through the roof as companies sold off a lot of their fleet at the start of the pandemic. Now there is a vehicle shortage.
So, you are advised to shop around. BBB Investigator Don O’Brien tells The Big Z once you find one to your liking, inspect the vehicle.

Before you leave home, check with your insurance agent or carrier to see if your existing policy covers damage to a rental vehicle or your liability as a driver. If so, you can skip buying insurance from the rental car company. If you are traveling for business, you may be covered by an employer’s policy.
