The Doolin Coast Guard, one of Ireland's busiest and most experienced coast guard units, has been stood down after six volunteers resigned on Monday over growing tensions within the organization. As such, the Kilkee unit of the Irish Coast Guard is responding to reports of a woman missing at the Cliffs of Moher.

Members of one of the country’s most experienced Irish Coast Guard units are no longer allowed to respond to emergencies. This follows a decision on Monday by the Irish Coast Guard to take the Doolin unit in Co Clare ‘off the board.’
