A new Pioneer PBS documentary titled "Eight Women Together Alone" revisits the story of the Willmar 8, eight women who led a bank strike for two years starting in 1977.
As a 19-year-old, she was propelled into the national spotlight when she and seven other female bank workers went on strike in December 1977 over sex discrimination.
