Negotiators from Rutgers University administration and three unions came to the State House in Trenton for talks Monday, with no resolution.

Negotiations are continuing, under Gov. Phil Murphy’s eye, to bring an end to the walkout by Rutgers faculty members that began Monday morning.

Negotiations between Rutgers University leadership and the 3 striking unions will resume today as professors took to picket lines at various locations.

Students expressed support for the union members but also wondered whether class cancelations would affect their academic progress.

The strike, which will affect roughly 67,000 students across the state, comes after nearly a year of unsuccessful bargaining between union representatives and university officials.
