When it comes to appearance, Double Deceiver is, well, deceiving.

On Sunday (Sept. 18) The Red Mile hosted the most lucrative card in its history with eight $400,000 Kentucky Championship series finals for freshman and sophomore female and male trotters and pacers and two $100,000 Kentucky Commonwealth series finals for sophomore trotting fillies and male freshman pacers. Favorites provided their supporters with winning tickets but there were plenty of surprises on the 10-race card.

On Sunday (Sept. 18) The Red Mile will host eight Kentucky Championship finals worth $3.2 million for freshman and sophomore male and female trotters and pacers and two $100,000 Kentucky Commonwealth series finals for three-year-old filly trotters and two-year-old male pacers.

Double Deceiver downed favourite Rebuff to take the $80,000 fourth preliminary of the Kentucky Championship Series for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Sunday (Sept. 11) at The Red Mile. Boudoir Hanover powered home in the other Kentucky Championship split for sophomore pacing fillies. 

On Sunday (Aug. 28), Rebuff returned to his victorious ways at The Red Mile in the $80,000 third leg of the Kentucky Championship series for sophomore trotting males in 1:51.4. 

On Sunday (Aug. 28) The Red Mile will host two $80,000 third round Kentucky Championship series events, two $30,000 third round Kentucky Commonwealth series events and four $15,000 third round legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod series for male freshman and sophomore trotters and pacers. 

I Did It Myway upset defending Kentucky champion and this year's North America Cup winner Pebble Beach in the $80,000 second leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for three-year-old male pacers during the mid-August Monday afternoon card at The Red Mile.

Second-place finishes in both his Yonkers Trot elimination as well as the final had Double Deceiver more than ready to take a solid field of colts and geldings down the road in one of four Tompkins-Geers divisions for trotting three-year-olds at The Meadowlands Saturday night (July 23).

Joviality S became the first filly since Continentalvictory in 1996 to win Yonkers Raceway's MGM Yonkers Trot, taking the $280,904 final and the first leg of the Trotting Triple Crown for three-year-olds on Friday night in 1:53.1 to equal the track record for her division.

If either of last week’s MGM Yonkers Trot elimination winners, the filly Joviality S or the colt Justice, is going to capture Friday’s $280,904 final at Yonkers Raceway, they will have to overcome not only their rivals, but difficult starting spots.
