FedEx Ground will invest $52 million in Montgomery; Lockheed Martin will invest $16.5 million in Huntsville.

FedEx Ground has started construction on its $52 million expansion. Montgomery leadership celebrated the investment on Wednesday.

Its unclear when city councilors will reach a consensus on how to spend Montgomerys federal coronavirus relief funds.

Alabama State University has also planned a celebration of Deans life.

Gov. Ivey will appoint a new commissioner to fill the seat of Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean, who died Tuesday morning.

Dean, who served for 22 years, was first elected to the Commission in 2000 and was re-elected five straight times.

Joseph served 40 consecutive years, including 30 as chairman.
