Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee and independent Evan McMullin had a heated debate in Utah Senate race. The candidates sparred over the Constitution, Donald Trump and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The predictable sparks flew, and some specifics were discussed. Now, it’s up to voters to do the hard work.

Evan McMullin, an independent who has pledged not to caucus with either party if he wins, and Sen. Mike Lee, the Republican incumbent, clashed over autonomy and partisanship in their debate.

Emmy Award-winner and Glen Ellyn native Sean Hayes ("Will & Grace") picked up his first Jeff Award Monday for his tour-de-force performance in Goodman Theatres "Good Night, Oscar." Paramount Theatres revival of "Kinky Boots" tied the Goodman with six awards during the 54th annual Joseph Jefferson Equity Awards ceremony in Oakbrook Terrace.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee and independent challenger Evan McMullin dug at each other, especially when it came to the Constitution, the Capitol riot and Donald Trump, during a sometimes heated debate Monday night in the race for the Senate.
