"The mill town that grew up was called Boulder, or Boulder Creek, with a Boulder Creek Hotel, general store and crude cabins. Then Peery built a new mill to the south in 1868. Meanwhile, Boulder Creek established a school district in 1871, and a post office in 1872 with Peery as postmaster."
