Western Nevada College is offering New Driver Education Classes this summer and fall that will help young drivers fulfill Nevada law requirements and strengthen skill areas that are usually lacking. The four-session courses are available to those age 15 and older at the WNC Carson City, Fallon and Minden campuses, as well as in Fernley.

East Fork Fire was called Wednesday morning for reports of smoke at Jacks Valley Elementary School south of Carson City in Douglas County. All students were safely evacuated.

Her illustrated talk, "From New York to Fallon: Abstract Art Today", is part of CCAIโs ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor St, Carson City.

An 87-year-old Wellington man, Samuel H. Dupuis, and his dog were killed in a crash Monday afternoon in Douglas County on State Route 208, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The accident was reported 12:49 p.m.
