Dropbox Passwords Will Be Available To All Users By Tyler Lee, on 03/16/2021 17:33 PDT
Last year, Dropbox launched its passwords manager feature called Dropbox Passwords. At the time of launch, it was only available to paid Dropbox customers, basically for those who are paying for a Dropbox subscription. However, the good news is that Dropbox has announced that they will be making the feature available to all users.

Before you get too excited, note that there is a catch. While Dropbox Passwords will be available to non-paying customers, those who are on the Dropbox Basic plan (free) will only be able to store a maximum of 50 passwords through the feature. Obviously we have more than 50 sets of logins so there is a very good chance that you will blow through this free cap.

Dropbox’s password manager will soon be available to all users – the service will store up to 50 of the most important passwords in one secure place.
“The Passwords app remembers your usernames and passwords on all your devices so you don’t have to. And zero-knowledge encryption ensures only you know your passwords, not Dropbox,” reads a blog post from Dropbox.
“We’re excited to help make the passwords experience easy for everyone, so in early April we’re rolling out Dropbox Passwords to all Dropbox users. Now, with a free Dropbox Basic plan, you can try a limited version of Passwords.”
Dropbox Passwords will be available for free Dropbox users starting in April.
People with a free Dropbox Basic plan will be able to store up to 50 passwords.
People will have to upgrade to a paid plan to store more passwords.
