And zero-knowledge encryption ensures only you know your passwords, not Dropbox,” reads a blog post from Dropbox. “We’re excited to help make the passwords experience easy for everyone, so in early April we’re rolling out Dropbox Passwords to all Dropbox users. Now, with a free Dropbox Basic plan, you can try a limited version of Passwords.”

Dropbox Passwords will be available for free Dropbox users starting in April. People with a free Dropbox Basic plan will be able to store up to 50 passwords. People will have to upgrade to a paid plan to store more passwords. Dropbox Passwords is a relatively new service from the cloud storage provider that allows you to sync passwords across all of your devices. When the service launched last year, it was limited to paid customers. But soon, people will be able to use Dropbox Passwords for free, though there will be some limits. Starting in early April, Dropbox Passwords will have a free option that s available to all Dropbox users. If you have a free Dropbox Basic plan, you ll be able to store 50 passwords on the service. You ll be able to sync those passwords on up to three devices and will have the option to securely share them with anyone that you d like.

Dropbox will make its password manager, Dropbox Passwords , available for free from next month.  The feature was launched last year for paying customers but will be made available to anyone that has a Dropbox account, the company announced. Dropbox Passwords generates unique passwords for new sign-ups and autofills credentials on apps and websites. The service is based on zero-knowledge encryption, which means users don t have to reveal the password for verification. What s more, the company said it will soon release a feature that lets users securely share passwords with friends and family. There are a few limitations, however. Dropbox Passwords users will only be able to store up to 50 passwords up to three devices to access those credential via the cloud.
