As per the new rule announced recently, the four-staged warning system will monitor PM 10 levels at these sites before relaying the data to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee. If the value is found to be above permissible limits, SMS-based alerts will be sent to the construction site for necessary action to be taken.
Similarly, the majority of the monitoring stations recorded an increase in monthly PM 10 concentration as well. While Jayanagar recorded the highest jump of over 66% in PM 10 concentration, NIMHANS recorded a surge of 24.2%, followed by Hebbal (15.2%), City Railway station (11.14%) and Mysore Road (1.9%).
