Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is trailing in Nandigram by 4,957 votes to the BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari after the completion of the second round of voting, even while the Trinamul is leading in more seats than the BJP.
According to anandabazar.com, the Trinamul Congress is leading in 189 seats and the BJP in 95 at 11 am.
Till 11.08 am, the Election Commission website had declared leads for 243 seats. Of these, Trinamul was leading in 160, while the BJP was leading in 79. In the Kalimpong Assembly seat, an Independent candidate was ahead.
Ministers in the incumbent government Subrata Mukherjee, Partha Chatterjee, Aroop Biswas, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay and Sadhan Pande are leading from their respective constituencies in the early trends.
