Hitachi ABB supplies key solutions for Dubai hydro power project DUBAI, 4 hours, 29 minutes ago Hitachi ABB Power Grids, a global technology leader headquartered in Switzerland, is supplying Andritz Hydro with state-of-the-art technology for grid connection and stabilisation for a unique pumped storage hydroelectric power plant, under construction in the Hajar Mountains in the UAE.   The Hatta pumped-storage power station, a first-of-its-kind project in the Arabian Gulf region, is being developed by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa). When commissioned in early 2024, it will provide up to 250 MW of clean, renewable and flexible energy, said the statement from the global technology giant.

Acciona kicks off full operations at Dubai desalination plant DUBAI, 4 hours, 1 minutes ago Spanish infrastructure major Acciona said it has completed a major milestone in the construction of Dubai’s Jebel Ali Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant, which is now producing at 100% of capacity.     The desalination plant, built by Acciona and Besix and owned by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa), has begun its daily production of 182 million liters of potable water, and is already supplying the city’s water network.   With the launch of the plant s operations, it has become one of the largest reverse osmosis desalination plants in the UAE. Acciona said its scope of work included the design and construction of the facility.
