DUBLIN, CA — The Alameda County District Attorney's Office will not press charges against two Dublin residents arrested on suspicion of killing a rising star in the Bay Area rap scene, KRON reported.
Angel D. Butler, 28, and Jovante D. Williams, 28, were taken into custody Tuesday and faced murder charges in the killing of Mark Alexander Jr., 26, known to fans as Lil Yase. They were no longer in custody at Santa Rita Jail as of Friday morning.

DUBLIN, CA — Two people were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Bay Area rapper Lil Yase in Dublin.
Angel D. Butler, 28, and Jovante D. Williams, 28, were taken into custody Tuesday on arrest warrants. They were booked on murder charges in Santa Rita Jail in the killing of Mark Alexander Jr., 26, a rising star in the local rap scene.
Butler and Williams share a home and a child together in Dublin, said Dublin Police Capt. Nate Schmidt.

He would have watched his son, Dominic, grow up and graduate from high school. He would have seen himself in his son's dry sense of humor. After spending his career serving the residents of Dublin, he would have celebrated his retirement and had more time to spend with his wife, Tammy, and the rest of his family and friends. He would even have seen his son follow in the footsteps of his wife and pursue a career with the California Highway Patrol.
