Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Monday that a person is considered fully immunized two weeks after receiving the second dose of vaccine and that “there is no more need for them to undergo RT-PCR test”.
However, Miravite said that those fully vaccinated persons exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will still be required to undergo an RT-PCR test even if they show their certificate of vaccination.
Four laboratories are currently offering RT-PCR tests–the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory, Department of Agriculture-ZCMC laboratory, and the containerized RT-PCR testing laboratory of the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ).

ZAMBOANGA CITY
(PNA) – With the decreasing trend in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections and hospitalization rate, the City Health Office (CHO) chief here said they have already “flattened the curve”.
In a virtual presser Monday evening, Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite said that “flattening the curve” means that the peak number of people sick with COVID-19 in this city no longer exceeds what the local healthcare system can handle.
“Actually, we have flattened the curve. We have decreased the number of patients with severe manifestation and needing hospitalization, therefore restraining our health system,” Miravite said.
She said the city currently has 63 patients admitted to the Zamboanga City Medical Center, 12 in private hospitals, and 48 in the city government isolation facilities.
